Minutes of the Board Meeting

The September Board of directors meeting of the 1960 PC Users Group was called to order by President Bill Wright at 7:00 p.m. with the following  board members and guests present:  Bill Franklin, Bob Argo, Marj Krisman, James Hug, Gary Toll, Jean Olson, Bea Ann Kelly, Jim, Kelly, Jean Franklin and Gene Jackson.

 

Copies of the minutes of the August Board meeting were distributed to the members and the President called for corrections.  The minutes were corrected to reflect that there were enough attendees for the digital camera workshop.  Gary Toll moved for adoption of the minutes.  The motion was seconded by Jean Olson and approved.

 

TREASURER

 

The treasurer distributed copies of the treasurer’s report and emphasized that the club needs new members to keep the treasury at a workable level.  Jim Hug moved to accept the treasurers report.  The motion was seconded by Gary Toll, voted on and approved.  A copy accompanies these minutes.

 

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

 

Bill Franklin presented the attendance statistics for the Special Interest Groups.  He also reported that seventeen people have paid for attendance at the Photo Workshop to be held on Saturday, October 15 at the Christian community Center which will cover the $125.00 charge for use of the space.  Ten people have signed up for the trip to Brazos Bend Park.

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

The nominating committee presented the following slate of candidates for office for the year 2008:  Bill Wright, Past President; Gary Toll, Vice President of Special Interest Groups; Bill Franklin, Programs; Jean Olson, Membership; Gene Jackson, Secretary; Bob Argo, Treasurer; Jim Hug, President for one year; Bea Ann Kelly, Communications; Erwin Winkle, Director at Large; David Gustine, Director at Large; Jim Kelly, Director at Large; and Marj Krisman, Director at Large.  Bob Argo moved to accept the slate of officers and to elect them by acclamation.  The motion was seconded by Jean Olson, voted on and approved  with no dissenting votes.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Bob Argo reported that the club can afford to pay $50.00 to $100.00 occasionally for good speakers .   Jim Kelly moved to adjourn the meeting.  His motion was seconded by Gary Toll and the meeting adjourned.
