Digital Photography SIG
This will be my final visit to, presentation to, and Share & Learn to the 1960 PC Users Group. It has been a delight for the past eight years to lead the Digital Photography SIG, to lead you on numerous field trips to scenic venues, to share hundreds of photography articles in the newsletter, and to find interesting guest presenters for our monthly meetings. Lots of work, yes, but a labor of love.
My subject this time is the delightful small boat cruise that Val and I did with American Cruise Lines last May. We spent three days just doing tourist stuff by ourselves in Charleston SC, followed by seven days aboard our 91-passenger ship the American Star. We stopped at numerous ports, both on the mainland and on islands along the Atlantic coastline, and shot over 2,000 photos in the process. We docked seven days later at Jacksonville FL.
We had good weather most of the trip, and also had mercifully quiet seas to ride on, owning to the buffering effect of the many barrier islands that protect the mainland from menacing waves on the Atlantic. We love cruising on small ships (usually fewer than 200 passengers). You see the same folks many times during the cruise, and you can make lasting friendships easily. Try it sometime, you'll like it.
I hope you'll come to our meeting on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 7:00 pm. I'd like to say good-bye to each of you.
